I did a music video so I did

Dr. Kevin Kelleher, professional bio-mechanical engineer and fishmonger is also the guitarist and trumpet player for popular Irish band Shouting at Planes. In May of this year Kevin was busy filleting a 20lb rainbow trout when he suddenly raised his glance from the fish to say to me “I’ve got an idea”. Thus the planning of the music video for Waiting Room began.

The storyboard for the video more or less follows the story of the song saying that life is like waiting in a line that finishes in a better (or worse) place. Touching on the whole life, death and grim reaper issues while keeping things light-hearted with a upbeat rhythm and an excellent brass arrangement.

The visuals themselves were made using the open source 3D animation software Blender. I’ve used this software before for my thesis project Parallel and Blender’s game engine for Parallel’s interactive installation. It’s a great bit of software and I do love things that are open source.

Anyway have a look at the video and I hope you enjoy it.
